Summary

I’m Jake Masterson, single dad, and the General Manager of Seattle’s NHL team。 I walked away from a career as a player so I could raise my daughter。 For the last twenty-plus years, Queenie has been my main priority, but now she’s getting married。

And there’s a small complication。

A beautiful, sexy complication named Hanna。

She’s my son-in-law’s older sister。 Or at least that’s how they were raised。 The truth is a little more scandalous than that。

I’ve been drawn to her from the moment I laid eyes on her。 And I spent months trying to keep a lid on that attraction。

Until we finally give in。

It starts with one searing kiss, but quickly ends with us between the sheets—and in the shower, and the hot tub, you get the picture—and turns into months of sneaking around。

Here’s the problem: we live on opposite ends of the country。 It can’t be anything but casual。 And as I’ve already said…it’s complicated。

But when Hanna finds out she’s pregnant…suddenly things get real serious。

Hottie Mac daddy。 An incredible love story about two mature adults who get a second chance at love and parenthood。 I adore this book, the way Jake and Hanna start by being friends to lovers to parents and arrive at their HEA。 This group of hockey players and their wives are one of my favorites in book series, they have the best relationship。 They are supportive of each other and the girl gang is everything。 An unconventional family with all the love and happiness。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Predictable and I got bored。 Least favorite book of the series。 Did I care that this was a later in life pregnancy (this isn’t a spoiler as the author has a trigger warning at the beginning of the book)? No。 I appreciate that the main protagonists are of a mature age group。 However I just wasn’t feeling any smutty fun from other Hunting reads。 This read like a story about how to navigate a late in life high risk pregnancy。 I also got tired of so much of this book again being about King & Queenie Predictable and I got bored。 Least favorite book of the series。 Did I care that this was a later in life pregnancy (this isn’t a spoiler as the author has a trigger warning at the beginning of the book)? Sometimes your first instinct is the right choiceOn the intro page, the writer says her initial plan was to just go with a lighthearted romance。 But then she decided to ‘go deeper’ and get into the ins and outs of a pregnancy for a woman in her 40’s。Not a great choice, in my opinion。Perhaps she should have written it for a layman’s guide。 Maybe then it would have been handy for…。somebody。But it wasn’t presented as medical info。 It was billed as a romance。Judging it then, purely as a romance, I w Sometimes your first instinct is the right choiceOn the intro page, the writer says her initial plan was to just go with a lighthearted romance。 But then she decided to ‘go deeper’ and get into the ins and outs of a pregnancy for a woman in her 40’s。Not a great choice, in my opinion。Perhaps she should have written it for a layman’s guide。 Maybe then it would have been handy for…。somebody。But it wasn’t presented as medical info。 It was billed as a romance。Judging it then, purely as a romance, I would say the relationship between the H and h was extremely cold, distant, bordering at times on downright unfriendly。 It made them both, rather than sympathetic, just very unlikable。This is not a book I enjoyed, not a book I finished, and not a book I would recommend。 。。。more

My thing with unexpected baby romances that the characters only “love” eachother because there’s a magic bun in the oven which feels forced to me :/// but the characters were likeable I guess

Jake and HannaAn absolutely heartfelt, endearing, and charming story。 It’s nice to read a story about an “older” couple and the struggles they endured navigating all the obstacles that presented themselves。 Jake and Hanna are just to perfect for words。 Their maturity level is what made this story that much more enjoyable。 There was no back and forth, no angst, just two adults dealing with situations as a team。 I loved it!

I love Hanna and Jake's story so much! They're so sweet and funny。 They've both been through so much and have such similar but unique histories。 And when this surprise is launched at them, they have to figure out a way through it together。 Seeing their relationship transform was so amazing。 I love all these hockey boys so much and I can't wait for the next story! 😍 I love Hanna and Jake's story so much! I really loved reading Jake and Hanna’s story。 The emotional toll both went through and came out ahead was something to read。 I felt their concerns and scares right along with them。 Helena Hunting writes stories that grab your heart and won’t let go。 Another great couple to add to this fabulous series。

Well。 Jake and Hanna's romance is a little complicated。 A little。 Complicated。 By that, I mean, their kids are married, but Hanna's son isn't known to the world as her son and THAT'S a whole other issue she needs to work her head around。 But before they get to that point (the dealing with their complications part, that is), Hanna and Jake are just having a little fun。 Which is all fine and good, amirite? Then things take a turn neither of them were expecting and suddenly their empty nests aren't Well。 Jake and Hanna's romance is a little complicated。 A little。 Complicated。 By that, I mean, their kids are married, but Hanna's son isn't known to the world as her son and THAT'S a whole other issue she needs to work her head around。 But before they get to that point (the dealing with their complications part, that is), Hanna and Jake are just having a little fun。 Which is all fine and good, amirite? Then things take a turn neither of them were expecting and suddenly their empty nests aren't looking like they're going to be empty for too much longer and they both have to readjust their visions of their futures。 And while they both want those futures to involve the other, there are THINGS they need to work out before they reach that point。Jake and Hanna have to deal with previous losses, old grief, new beginnings, old hurts (which are different from the old grief, mind you) that never really healed, and a whole lot of steamy times on whatever surface Jake and Hanna have access to。 They are a complex family-esque unit before they get together and they have to find a way to make things work that also works for their kids。That said, I DUG Jake and Hanna finding their happiness with one another。 *thumbs up*-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal 。。。more

So。 Cute!!!!!! Although I have never given birth, my mom was surprised to get pregnant with my brother in her mid to late forties, just like Hanna。 This book really helped me understand what she must have been going though and all of the worries that she likely faced。 Helena’s books always have a special place in my heart, and A Kiss for a Kiss is no exception。 This was honestly one of the sweetest books I’ve read。 Jake was so kind and attentive, yet emotional when he needed to be。 I just wanted So。 Cute!!!!!! Their chemistry was fantastic and so much fun to experience。 I also really enjoyed seeing their respective relationships with King and Queenie。 The book itself was short, but the story was complete。 It offered a stark look into the complications that come with later-in-life pregnancies。 The book still featured some sexy times, but not nearly as many as usual。 Still, I think the amount of smut was overall pretty good。 Maybe I’d have liked a little more, but that’s just because I’m used to reading a lot of romances that are heavy on the smut。 I can understand why Helena didn’t include a large number of sex scenes。 It makes sense, given the plot。 Although this book can be read as a standalone, it was so great to see the other characters from the All In and Pucked series。 I will never get tired of reading about Violet and Alex in particular。 I will literally read anything Helena writes, especially when it’s in relation to those two series。 All in all, I absolutely loved this book!! 。。。more

So。 Much。 Talking。I usually love this author's books but this one just dragged on and on for me。 It was like every conversation was the same, just with different characters。 I get that the topics are sensitive (believe me, I've been there and it's awful) but this read less like a romance and more a woman's road to recovery。 Not necessarily a bad thing, just not what I was expecting from this book。 So。 Much。 Talking。I usually love this author's books but this one just dragged on and on for me。 It was like every conversation was the same, just with different characters。 I get that the topics are sensitive (believe me, I've been there and it's awful) but this read less like a romance and more a woman's road to recovery。 Not necessarily a bad thing, just not what I was expecting from this book。 。。。more

Everything fell into place for Hanna and Jake, relatively easily, considering their circumstances。 It was nice to see their relationship develop with the pregnancy。 I liked that this book was about them building a family together - it made my tooth ache! :) Steam level: 🔥🔥🔥⚠️: mentions of miscarriage, high risk pregnancyThank you to Social Butterfly PR and Helena Hunting for a gifted eARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

This was a cute read and a good way to finish out the series。 It made me laugh and it was nice to read about a couple who were older (they're in their forties, so not old) and getting change at really finding the love they deserve。 This book deals with a later in life pregnancy and the complications that go with that since the mom-to-be is around 46。Hanna is King's biological mom but was raised as his sister to stop her family from facing embarrassment at having a daughter become a mom at 15。 Ha This was a cute read and a good way to finish out the series。 It made me laugh and it was nice to read about a couple who were older (they're in their forties, so not old) and getting change at really finding the love they deserve。 This book deals with a later in life pregnancy and the complications that go with that since the mom-to-be is around 46。Hanna is King's biological mom but was raised as his sister to stop her family from facing embarrassment at having a daughter become a mom at 15。 Hanna at one point finally breaks down and tells her mom how she really feels about the situation and I was so proud of her (her mom annoyed me even in the previous book with how domineering and controlling she is)。 Jake is Queenie's dad (who is now married to King) and the fact that he and Hanna got together created even more disfunction to an already disfunctional family。 But he loves Hanna and was there for anything she needed。 I loved watching their romance blossom and bloom and how they got a second chance at raising a child, this time with Hanna actually getting to bear the title of mother and Jake having a partner that loved their child and was supportive since Queenie's biological mom abandoned them not too long after Queenie was born。Overall it was a cute read and what I loved most about this series was that once the characters go together, they stayed together。 There isn't some big blowup that happens where they break up and then get back together because they realize they had a misunderstanding。 They get together and then navigate the problems that come together。 That was definitely refreshing to read。 。。。more

Lots of emotion and drama, low on chemistry (and steam)。I liked the characters and the story was ok, it was just overfilled with drama。 I get it, but it didn't work well with the rest of the books in the All In series。 Very different, not bad, just not for me。 Lots of emotion and drama, low on chemistry (and steam)。I liked the characters and the story was ok, it was just overfilled with drama。 I get it, but it didn't work well with the rest of the books in the All In series。 Very different, not bad, just not for me。 。。。more

I needed this story after reading about their first encounter in A Secret for a Secret。 Helena Hunting did not disappoint, she delivered like she always does! Jake and Hanna needed this story。 Perfect completion to the All In Series。 In their 40’s, both divorced, Jake’s daughter Queenie and Hanna’s son Ryan are engaged。 They have a chemistry and it’s probably best they quit before it gets too messy。 Whoops!! Too late。 I absolutely loved this book。
